Electrical Technician

Our client is a global leader in plastic and aluminum design, manufacturing, and high-speed capping equipment/application systems. We are looking for experienced Electrical Technicians to join their team.

Title: Electrical Technician

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Overview: The Electrical Technician builds, repairs, and modifies electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical pneumatic equipment. The Electrical Technician will work on production machinery, laboratory equipment, and new engineering projects.

Functions:

• Build, repair, and/or modify electrical or electronics equipment in production machinery and new engineering projects related to equipment (PLCs and control wiring).
• Troubleshoot more complex manufacturing components in PLCs and control wiring.
• Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify maintenance and assembly.
• Operate machine shop tools when needed to fabricate non-procurable items (coils, terminal boards, chassis, etc.).
• Assist in writing operational manuals and procedures for company equipment.
• Assist technical personnel.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment.

Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing/production.
• 2+ years in industrial/electrical controls or equivalent.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic components used in production machinery.
• Experience building electrical and electronic components.
• Experience working with hazards (such as high voltage) and able to use proper safety protocols to handle hazards.

Written and verbal communication skills are necessary for the individual to succeed in the team-oriented environment.
